The Sustainable Campus Committee is a campus-wide committee established
to address the issue of sustainability on the FSU campus. The committee
is made up of administrators, staff, faculty, and students. The membership
of the committee is open to all persons and departments interested in
campus sustainability issues.
In collaboration with administrators, staff, faculty, students, and community partners, it is the mission of the FSU Sustainable Campus Committee to support the integration of "environmentally friendly" programs and projects in order to reduce energy and resource consumption and reuse the campus solid waste stream.
There are several benefits to creating sustainable campus goals and objectives. Besides the obvious benefit to the earth, these projects and programs that emphasize education, conservation, the reuse of items, and the recycling of materials have the potential to be very cost effective for Florida State University.
