Student Service Advising
The Center for Leadership and Civic Education serves as the campus hub for connecting students to nonprofit agencies in the Tallahassee community. Students looking for a place to volunteer can meet with a student service advisor who will help to match students’ specific interests to local community needs. In addition, advisors can inform students of special events, projects, programs, and leadership opportunities in service. To meet with an advisor, call ahead to make an appointment or just stop by during normal business hours. Students can also search for community service opportunities using the Volunteer Connection or by subscribing to the ServNews Listserv. Click here for more information.
Youth Programs
The FSU America Reads/Mentor Program makes a positive difference in the lives and academic skills of at-risk children. FSU Mentors… Click here for more information.
Outreach Program
The Outreach Program gives students an opportunity to get involved in community service on a regular basis, with projects to choose from on almost a daily basis. In small groups, the Outreach Program offers FSU students a pre-service explanation before every project, a student-led service experience at various nonprofit agencies in and around Tallahassee, and a guided reflection, which aims to heighten students' awareness of important social issues.
